BRAND CHARACTER DESIGN / TODDLER CARE PRODUCTS

PEQUENIN

»THE PROJECT

I was invited to pitch the redesign for the Pequeñín duckling, a character that’s the face of a leading multinational brand for diapers and baby care products. The brand had been working with lower technical and visual standards in their animation, and they needed a studio to take over the animation and postproduction for their commercials and digital content. We had the creative freedom to really reimagine the character without sticking too closely to the original duckling, which allowed for a fresh approach. Here’s what me and my team did.

» WHAT WE DID

We won the pitch with a comprehensive presentation that began by analyzing the character’s history and highlighting areas for improvement. I reimagined the duckling as a companion for the baby, with an older sibling vibe that embodies the brand values of softness, comfort, and security. The new design gave it a playful, tender, and joyful personality. The presentation included over 100 slides showcasing the character in various brand scenarios, along with side-by-side comparisons of our renders against the original design.

» POST DIRECTION

As postproduction supervisor, I was on set for all Pequeñín commercial shoots and led the studio during postproduction. My responsibilities included overseeing props and packaging modeling, character animation, compositing, and final color grading. I also managed client relations, ensuring the studio consistently met the brand’s expectations and delivered high-quality results on each project.
